Dog Friendly Beaches in Cornwall.

We can start with Porthleven. Porthleven is about 6 miles drive away. Not only a dog friendly beach but dog friendly pubs & restaurants too, so what more could you and your 4 paws want. Oh and lots of lovely hand made gifts to take back to friends and family.

Porthleven - Independent, Local Travel ...

Dog Friendly Falmouth.

You can start on Gyllyngvase Beach. There tends to be more dogs than people here! Very popular. Lovely restaurant with an outside terrace to sit on with your dog and watch the world go by or just pop onto the beach and get involved with all the dogs playing or take a dip in the sea.

Dog Friendly Loe Bar.

Another lovely place to walk your dog and take in the views. Natural water lake to walk around & only about 5 miles drive from our cottages. National trust cafe to stop at for a recharge and then you could put your dog on a lead and walk along the coastal path all the way to Porthleven for lunch, then return to your car back along the path and see the lovely views of the boats out at sea on your way back. Perfect.

A Dog Friendly day at the Cornish Seal Sanctuary.

Fabulous outdoor space about 3 miles from our cottages The Sanctuary rescues lots of seals from the sea around Cornwall and at Gweek they tend any wounds, keep them comfortable and as soon as they are ready, take them back to sea. It is a lovely place to vist and see all the wonderful work they do. Some seals never get back so sea and are used to people and their dogs coming to say hello, you can be there at feeding time and they hold events too. Well worth investigating.

Dog Friendly walk on the Lizard

The whole of the Lizard Peninsula is situated about 30 minutes drive away. An excellent dog-walking country, fantastic cliff-top coastal paths and spectacular sea views from the coastal path. Please, keep your dog on a lead. The walk can take in some fascinating landscape and historic sites – from Mullion in the west to Coverack in the east – as well as a handful of tiny fishing harbours with strings of colourful fishing boats dotted about.

The most popular place to visit on the peninsula is perhaps the most southerly point in mainland Britain: Lizard Point with its famous lighthouse – it also has a great dog-friendly café to refuel! You’ll see the famous dark green serpentine stone while visiting the Lizard.

Dog Friendly Trebah Gardens, Mawnan Smith.

About a 20 minute drive from your cottage are the most beautiful Trebah Gardens on the Helford estuary with the most amazing stories to tell. On 1 June 1944, a regiment of 7,500 men of the 29th US Infantry Division, along with their tanks, guns and transport, embarked from Trebah Beach in ten 150-foot flat-bottomed LST landing craft. For five days they battled through enormous seas to the Isle of Wight and then on to the D-Day assault landing on Omaha Beach in Normandy.

Excellent dog friendly cafe too!
